THE NEW ENGLAND COUNCIL OF CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY
|
CENTER FOR APPLIED CHILD DEVELOPMENT
Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development
Tufts University
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Understand key findings from intervention
research related to qualities of effective service
providers
Identify common indicators of "attachment state
of mind" as observed in both parent-child and
provider-parent interactions
Consider ways that culture and shared history
may influence and maintain different defensive
strategies when a person experiences stress
Identify the elements of "reflective supervision"
or "reflective consultation" and how they differ
from more traditional models of supervision
Reflect on examples from both personal and
professional experience to understand better
how our own working models and states of mind
influence our response to challenging situations
with the children and families we serve
