The Boston Institute for the Development of Infants and Parents is a non-profit multidisciplinary, professional organization established in 1973 to study the dynamic interaction of the psychological, biological, social, and cognitive systems of the infant and those within the infant-parent relationship.  BIDIP is affiliated with the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development, Tufts University, The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, The New England Council for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Human Relations Service.

The 2003 Spring Program "The Developing Mind: A New Paradigm in Understanding Attachment, Learning,Trauma,and Neurobiology" featuring Daniel Siegel, MD was held March 29, 2003.

The 2002 Twenty-Seventh BIDIP Annual Conference was held Saturday, November 9, 2002 at the Massachusetts Medical Society in Waltham.

The 2002 Spring Program "Comforting and Sustaining the Traumatized: Caring for Ourselves While Caring for Others" presented by Jean Bellows, M. Ed., Psy. D. was held Saturday, May 18, 2002.

The 2001 Twenty-Sixth BIDIP Annual Conference, "A New Understanding of Infant-Parent Relationships: Compassionate Parenting" was held November 3, 2001 at Pine Manor College from 8am to 5pm.
